Construct-Radiate
In October of 2015, neuverBand announced the inauguration of an international initiative whereby composers from all over the world were invited to submit their work to us for consideration for a future collaboration. Composers of any nationality, under the age of 40, were invited to send us a representative pre-existing work which was to be assessed by a five-member jury consisting of Fabien Lévy (France/Germany), Jean-Luc Hervé (France), Caspar Johannes Walter (Germany/Switzerland), Mike Svoboda (USA/Switzerland) and neuverBand Artistic Director, Paul Clift (Australia/United Kingdom). The response to our call was overwhelming: 316 entries by composers from 49 countries. Based on the decisions of the jury, a commission for a new work for all nine members of our ensemble, to be performed in the opening concert of our 2016/17 season, was awarded to 35 year-old Sardinian composer Michele Sanna.
